Ma, sounds in silence

In the Japanese culture of space, the empty or void regarded as sacred for transitioning with special treatments intended to be inhabited by good spirits.

The void ‘Ma’

The theory proposes that in voids, what is not seen actually exists and the need for consciousness to them should be exercised.

In rhythms soothing to the ear, there lies Ma. In the notes unheard, the spaces unfilled. The inverse of the beats that require conscious attempts to notice. Like the first two swings of an opera conductor

before hands come to play,

before sound,

before your heart starts to melt

there in the existence of silence, is sound.

Close your ears and listen.
